Great Places Housing Group (GPHG) held their fourth annual Make Their Day Awards at Christie Fields this year and Cruden Energy Solutions were delighted to be recognized, winning a Silver Job Well Done Award for Project Solaris.
The Make Their Day Awards ceremony is Great Places' way of celebrating the valuable work their teams, staff and partners do to improve and 'make their customers day'. Run by the GPHG Quality and Performance Team the awards aim for continuous improvement within the group. There were 44 nominations this year and 10 prizes were handed out by Chief Executive Stephen Porter, Chairman Ted Stott and Tenants John and June Hall, Christine Goulden, Kalsoom Mahmood and Angela Lindsay.
There were three winners of the tenants' awards for a Job Well Done and Project Solaris took the Silver Award for the installation of photovoltaic panels at 100 homes. The GPHG team, Cruden Energy Solutions and Arcus Consulting were recognized by the judging panel for all their hard work in supporting tenants to save money – and the environment – through the innovative solar panel project. Residents were also supplied with plenty of information and practical 'gadget' tools to maximize the saving on their electricity bills.
The group is one of the first housing associations to harness photovoltaic (PV) panel technology and after the success of Project Solaris for the first 100 homes, a further 500 homes are targeted for the cost and environmental impact saving project.
