Crewe and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson put on a hard hat and climbed in to the cab of a digger this May 2009 to formally cut the turf on Cruden Construction latest £7.9 million extra care village, Belong Crewe, for client CLS Care Services Limited.
MP Edward Timpson welcomed the landmark retirement village in Crewe as making a key local contribution to the National Dementia Strategy. Mr Timpson was accompanied to cut the turf by the CLS Care Services team; Tracy Paine Operations Director, Melanie Saywell, General Manager and Tracy Brookes Marketing Assistant, together with the team from Cruden Construction.
Cruden Construction have an enviable record of experience in the design and build of extra care and retirement villages in the North of England and are delighted to be main contractor for CLS Care Services on both this project for Belong Crewe and forthcoming project for Belong Atherton, two impressive and advanced extra care developments.
The advanced design of Belong Crewe will provide accommodation for 66 residents through a combination of apartments and open plan living, at the heart of the village will be a bistro, gentle activities gym, internet café, hair and beauty salon and venue that can be used for cinema screening or dancing complete with a licensed bar.
Demolition of the old CLS Care Services building 'The Waldrons' will commence in June 2008 followed shortly by the commencement of construction of the new building, Belong Crewe.
