Cruden Construction has appointed two senior members of staff as directors of the company.

Construction manager Ian Woolrich (pictured left) and chief quantity surveyor Alan Davies have been promoted within the construction arm of the Warrington-based Cruden Group, which also has development and property services subsidiaries.

Ian, 45, joined Cruden six years ago as contracts manager and was made construction manager three years later. He is responsible for co-ordinating staff and clients on all live sites as well as supporting the business development team. Part of his expanded role will be to get more involved with new business where his people skills really will be put to the test. "Being made a director wasn't a specific target I set myself but I have obviously done something right so I am very pleased and looking forward to fulfilling the role," he said. He was formerly project manager with a national construction company for 10 years and before that site manager for a small Cheshire building contractor whom he joined straight from college.

Alan joined Cruden as chief quantity surveyor two years ago. Alan, 47, who is both a chartered surveyor and chartered builder, has more than 25 years of commercial experience gained predominantly throughout his career with two national construction companies. He has brought a surveyor's methodical hand to the Cruden business and has enjoyed fine-tuning their procedures even further. He said: "These are exciting times within Cruden and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead."
