Cruden Innovator of the Year 2011 is Announced Picture
Monday 11th April 2011

Innovation is a core part of Cruden's culture and the Innovator of the Month is a highly regarded award open to all staff from Operative to Director. Nominations can be made by any employee for any employee who demonstrates the spirit of innovation in their role or specific project.

In 20010/11 the award was given for a wide range of innovative activities from; excellence in client satisfaction, exemplary customer service, increased efficiency in quantity surveying to delivered to a fast programme, environmental ideas at the head office and building exceptional relationships with our clients.

The accolade of winner of 'Innovator of the Year for 2011' went to Lancasterian SEN School Site Manager Carl Lyons who was the winner of the December 2010 Innovator of the Month award for his contribution to the school for client Manchester City Council.

Feedback from the Manchester City Council team is that Carl has taken ownership of the scheme; that he shows "care and attention" in everything he does; including his dealings with the teachers, the children and the MCC Project Management team.

Stephen Morris Cruden's Chairman commented "All of us connected with this scheme, however remotely, are proud of what Cruden have delivered under Carl's on-site leadership"

The final words must be left to Lancasterian School's Head, Dave Calvert. He commented "I am writing to you as I wish to draw your attention and to give credit to Carl Lyons. I would fully endorse any acknowledgement that Cruden can give to him as I consider he has provided outstanding service to this school, to me, the staff and pupils of Lancasterian school.

He is an absolute credit to the company as an ambassador. Carl's rapport with pupils has added to the very positive working relationship he and I have built up over the duration of the programme of works. His patience, sound advice and good humour have helped throughout. As this was a refurbishment programme we have faced many difficult challenges. At no time has anything we asked for, or help and advice requested of him, been too much trouble for Carl. By leading with such a positive and engaging manner I believe Carl has had a positive effect on how his colleagues and Cruden's supply chain have responded to us."
