Cruden's very own 'Green Working Party' is about to publish its first report, following an investigation into potential energy-efficiencies to be achieved at the Group's 'Hillcrest' headquarters at Grappenhall in Warrington.
Jonathan Hill and the Green Working Party which includes Lorraine Armitage, Barry Curran, Joanne Whittles and Nicola Upton all based at Hillcrest Head Office have drafted the initial 'Green' report has been written in conjunction with Carbon Trust guidelines and assistance, and considers the extent of possible energy-savings across a wide-range of consumables, from personal printers to photo-voltaic panels.
A 'hit-list' of thirteen energy points has been identified, with details of current energy consumption profiled against a set of targets, together with action-plans and long-term benefits.
"Whilst lots of organisations talk about their commitment to the environment, we're actually doing something about it." said Jonathan. "By considering our energy use at Hillcrest we're literally putting our own house in order before we move into other areas of our activities." Cruden's Green Working Party is led from the very top, and Chairman Stephen Morris said he was delighted by the report's findings. "The Working Party is already able to show that whilst energy-efficiencies have environmental benefits, they also achieve cost-savings – and potential business opportunities!" "Their work on air-source heat pumps, smart meters and photo-voltaic panels will provide useful information, both for Cruden's clients and its supply-chain partners."
