Tom Armstrong a Trainee Site Manager currently working on Cruden's largest project this year, Brookside Retirement Village for Arena Housing Association in Ormskirk, has won the Innovator of the Month Award for his commitment to onsite Health and Safety Procedures.
The 'Innovator of the Month' award is open to all Cruden staff, from Operative to Director. The award might be given for an excellent health, safety, quality or environmental idea; a contribution to sustainability projects; delivering a great project; for getting fantastic client feedback; coming up with a great idea to save costs; make a safer working place; or improve productivity; resolving a client concern imaginatively and effectively or just doing the job with enthusiasm and commitment.
Tom's award is for his personal effort in taking ownership for improving Health and Safety Procedures onsite, with a diligent, competent and thorough approach.
Tom led on the Safety Management System onsite and has developed a number of innovative pilot initiatives in conjunction with Contracts Manager, Steve Garnett. Pilots included; management of Daily Action Sheets which list all activities and issues on site and how they have been closed out, Daily Suggestion and Information Board, and the integration of the weekly checks into one central document.
Since joining the team at Brookside Retirement Village Tom has taken on more responsibility, coordinating some sophisticated supply chain partners and challenging their approach to Health and Safety as Cruden drive forward to specifically "raise our performance" in this area of operations.
Tom has been with Cruden since 2008 and has come a long way in a short period of time, his exceptional effort is well recognized by the Brookside Team and the rest of the Cruden Group.
