The Small Works Department are Top of the Class

The Small Works Department are Top of the Class Picture
Wednesday 30th September 2009

The summer proves to be a very busy time for the team in the Small Works Department at Cruden Property Services, with the support of Senior Estimator Ian Robinson and Trainee Estimator from Manchester City Councils Young Persons Initiative Joshua Heavens, the team delivered on their objectives for Manchester City Council through the Small Works Framework.

As well as excellent Client Satisfaction KPI results of 84% for product and 83% for service, the team also received some very positive feedback from all of the seven schools they worked in over the summer period. They undertook a range of works including the refurbishment of a nursery, school bungalow and library, provision of a temporary teaching block, toilet block conversion and school access implementation. Each project was completed ahead of programme and within budget. Feedback included the following;

"The work was carried out with minimal disruption to the school and your staff kept me regularly updated on progress. They were also particularly helpful at the end of the project when they agreed to allow the fencing to stay up for a further two weeks so that the site could be used as an overflow car park for the school whilst another building project was being completed. Their co-operation and professionalism throughout the project was very commendable."
Vivienne Fitzpatrick, Headteacher, St James C of E Primary School

"Many thanks for all your hard work and effort so far on the Plymouth Grove Primary School toilet block conversion."
Chris Hill, Principal Building Surveyor, Corporate Technical Services, Manchester City Council

"My regards to all at Cruden's involved in this scheme, considering the scheme was less than half the size when we started on site and the adverse weather affecting works it has been a very successful outcome. Libraries are very pleased with the result and all credit to you're Site Manager Brian Coupe who was very proactive."
Les Yates, Building Surveyor, Corporate Technical Services, Manchester City Council

"I have thanked Damien Woodman, Site Manager yesterday for all his efforts on the St Thomas Primary School provision of temporary classroom project but I also wanted to mention that Damien and operatives have been great in getting works complete within a tight timescale plus keeping everyone updated on progress. Both Ian Gartside and the head teacher are really pleased with the works."
Chris Hill, Principal Building Surveyor, Corporate Technical Services, Manchester City Council

"I believe this is my first project (Crab Lane Primary School - Schools Access Implementation Work) with Cruden and can only comment on the efficient and professional manner in which it has been conducted. This has been echoed by the school who are very pleased with both the results and how the results have been achieved. Many thanks to all those who have contributed."
Mark Jensen, Chartered Surveyor and Inclusive Environments Consultant, Corporate Technical Services

"I am writing to express my gratitude to Cruden's for the works carried out in relation to the refurbishment of the nursery at St Margret's C.E Primary School and in particular to George Norrie the Site Manager overseeing the project. This success I would attribute in the main to the Site Manager. He has communicated well with the school staff, kept school staff informed and he has always been punctual, reliable and has gone out of his way to ensure the project was successful. I have been most impressed by his attention to detail and his ability to always think through possible implications for the school. There has been a noticale difference this year compared to previous years particularly in relation to picking up on any ongoing areas of snagging."
E.A Richardson, Headtecher, St Margret's C of E Primary School

"I just want to express to admiration for Wayne Mallinson who completed a number of DDA related jobs at my school during the Summer Holidays. He worked to a tight schedule to complete all the works to a very high standard. Not only this, he also managed to work alongside the staff so that they were able to access school during the works safely to organize and setup their classrooms.

His attitude to all staff, as well as myself has always been exceptional. I hope that, should Crudens' complete any further work for our school, I will have the pleasure to work with Wayne again."

Andrew Ross, Acting Headteacher, Chorlton C.E Primary School
